The Haydn House Eisenstadt addresses Joseph Haydn’s private life as well as his musical production and the diverse genres he operated in.
The authenticity of the location characterises the museum in a specific way and therefore demands an attentive handling of the historical legacy as well as a modern presentation of Joseph Haydn’s life and work. Annual special exhibitions aim at promoting an academic view on the diverse subjects that focus on the musical history of the 18th and the beginning 19th century and to portray them at the highest stage.
Additional aims of the Haydn House Eisenstadt are the restoration and preservation of the house in collaboration with the Federal Monuments Office as well as the quality of presentation.
